Last week saw a heap of news and announcements with a massive week with the launch of the PlayStation 5 and both the Xbox Series X and S. We have more news such of Project xCloud is coming and a few strong announcements. We have also reviewed Gears Tactics and Yakuza: Like a Dragon on Xbox Series S and X. We also have 35 of last weeks biggest trailers, including a slew of cracking launch trailers of Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Demon’s Souls and a lot more. Playstation Launch Day

The PlayStation 5 launched today with PlayStation lighting up Sydney with a series of projections around the city last night.

Xbox Support Recommendations

Xbox Support has just released some tips on the best way to place your Xbox Series X/S so you can pre-plan ahead. As stated from their tweet:

“So you’ve found the purrrrfect spot for your new console

But does it have enough clearance?

Be sure there’s 4-6″ of clearance on all sides

Don’t put your console inside an enclosed cabinet

Make sure that no console vents are blocked”

Control Ultimate Edition Delay

Remedy Entertainment have announced that the launch of Control Ultimate Edition will be pushed back into 2021.

You can see their tweet below which states:

“An update from the development team: Control Ultimate Edition will arrive on next generation platforms early 2021.

We want the final quality of the game to be awesome, and so we need a bit more time to work on it. Thank you for your understanding and patience!”

Mass Effect Legendary Edition

Exciting news coming from BioWare, they have announced the Mass Effect Legendary Edition! All three Mass Effects and all DLC remastered to 4K Ultra HD.

It is said to be released “Spring 2021”, so Autumn here in Australia and New Zealand.

Xbox GamePass Ultimate: Disney+ Perk

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate sees its latest perk come to subscribers in 30 days free Disney+.

From the article:

“Ultimate members who are new to Disney+ will be eligible to claim the 30-day subscription trial through the Perks Gallery on their Xbox console, on the Xbox app on Windows 10 PC, or through the Xbox Game Pass mobile app on iOS and Android. Once the Perk is claimed, members will be directed to the Disney+ site activate their subscription. Disney+ is also available on Xbox One and will be available on Xbox Series X and S, so you can download the app via the Microsoft Store. If you’re interested, don’t wait too long! Members can claim and activate the trial until January 31.”

Developed by The Coalition and Splash Damage, Gears Tactics is the latest game in the Gears of War universe but not how veterans of the series would expect. Gears Tactics is not the third person shooter that gamers have all come to know and love, but delivers this latest title in the remarkable series as a turned-based strategy game.

Review – Yakuza: Like a Dragon

For as long as mankind has existed, tales of revenge and redemption have forever been told in books, movies, songs, and games, and Yakuza: Like a Dragon is no exception. The new installment of the Yakuza from the developers at SEGA sees it being taken in a new direction with the introduction of Ichiban Kasuga as the game’s main character, a loyal junior member of the Tojo Clan’s Arakawa Yakuza Family rather then Kazuma Kiryu as the main protagonist. The player is taken on a journey of redemption, revenge, and growth as Ichiban progresses and the true meaning of family and loyalty becomes evident. Yakuza: Like a Dragon will appeal not only to those who have played the series and love this style of game, but the developers have crafted a game that will draw in those who are new to the Yakuza.
