Daily Download

Welcome to the Daily Download for Friday 11th March 2022. Will be covering the last four days with this one so there is plenty to get through. We have our reviews of Elden Ring, Shadow Warrior 3 and GIRD Legends, plus another PlayStation State of Play, a new season for Forza Horizon, a launch date for Gotham Knights, perhaps a white Elite Controller for Xbox, plus heaps more.

Review – Elden Ring

YOU DIED. These two words in Elden Ring, like the other titles from developer FromSoftware, are not a prediction, they are a spoiler. Death in Elden Ring isn’t necessarily failure but rather a learning tool, a means to taking additional time to further understand the intricacies of the complex combat mechanics that are required to not only survive but to complete the story.

Review – Shadow Warrior 3

Devolver Digital rarely miss when it comes to publishing a good videogame and the streak looks set to continue with Flying Wild Hog’s Shadow Warrior 3. Set some time after the events of Shadow Warrior 2, our protagonist, Lo Wang, accepts the responsibility of destroying an enormous dragon that has been slowly destroying all remnants of Earth. Shadow Warrior 3 focuses strongly towards its gameplay and does not pretend to be anything other than a fast-paced, gruesome and action-packed first-person shooter.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands

Chaos Chamber and the endlessly replay-able endgame of the upcoming Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. Here is the reveal trailer.

The post launch content for Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands has been detailed today and it brings 4 post-launch content drops.
“Each of the four new content drops begins in Dreamveil Overlook, where the enigmatic fortune teller Vesper awaits an audience. Peer into the Mirrors of Mystery she oversees and you’ll be whisked away to illusionary environments, each consisting of five levels to fight through followed by a fearsome new boss encounter. Each Mirror of Mystery content drop will be available for individual purchase, but you can punch your ticket to all four with the Season Pass.
The final boss within each Mirror of Mystery will grow more powerful over time, and Vesper’s tales are designed to be replayed so you can test your mettle against the rising difficulty. Each time you successfully vanquish the boss’ increasingly fearsome forms, you’ll earn Lost Souls that let you spin Vesper’s Wheel of Fate. Spins of this creepy contraption can reward you with Legendary weapons, gear, and other items.
Endless Possibilities and Customization
Completing a content drop will also add its respective levels and boss to the pool of possibilities in the Chaos Chamber, the endlessly replayable endgame of Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. This will expand the myriad of combinations for your randomized dungeon, making each run that much more unpredictable. For more info about how the Chaos Chamber works, check out the latest Dev Diary.
The fourth post-launch content drop will also introduce the addition of a to-be-announced seventh class to the roster of six classes you can mix and match between in the base game. With its own Class Feat, two fresh Action Skills, and a unique skill tree to play with, the seventh class will create even more Multiclass possibilities.
Rounding out the Season Pass is the Butt Stallion Pack, featuring cosmetic items approved by Queen Butt Stallion herself that’ll make you the envy of other Fatemakers. Included in the Butt Stallion Pack are the Diamond Guard Armor Presets (three items), the Crystal Glitter Makeup Pack (five items), the Adamant Throne Banner Set (two items), and the Diamond Hero Statue Material.”

Evil Dead

The Evil Dead game will make its way to gamers on the 13th May 2022 and a new trailer has dropped to show off the game play.
“With terrifying possession powers and an army of darkness at its command, the Kandarian Demon is a powerhouse to be feared as it flies through the woods chasing survivors. Hunt down enemy players yourself or command ravenous Deadites to attack. Take control of your Deadite minions, environmental objects (including those infamous trees!), and even the survivors themselves to frighten and vanquish any mortal who stands in your way. Choose the physical form of the Kandarian Demon that fits your playstyle, each with different enemy types and bosses including Henrietta, Eligos, and Evil Ash.
Inspired by the iconic horror, humor and action of the “Evil Dead” franchise, Evil Dead: The Game brings the series’ biggest characters together in a pulse-pounding battle with the forces of darkness. Work as a team of four survivors, including Ash Williams, Kelly Maxwell, Pablo Simon Bolivar, Scotty, Lord Arthur and more, to kick Deadite butt and banish the vile Kandarian Demon. Or become the Demon yourself, using your powers of possession to stop the good guys dead and swallow their souls! Battle with more than 25 hard-hitting weapons and a variety of skill trees in multiplayer and bonus single-player missions to survive the night.”
Head across and watch the trailer below.

DioField Chronicle

The DioField Chronicle, an all-new strategy RPG, was announced today and will be coming out later this year.
“This fresh new franchise is developed by SQUARE ENIX® in conjunction with Lancarse Ltd, a team of veteran strategy developers, features unique character designs by Taiki (Lord of Vermilion III, IV), concept art by Isamu Kamikokuryo (FINAL FANTASY XII, FINAL FANTASY XIII) and has beautifully orchestrated music by world-renowned composers Ramin Djawadi and Brandon Campbell, known best for their work on Game of Thrones.
The Announcement Trailer unveiled today provides a first look at the story and new, deeply strategic real-time battle system called ‘Real-Time Tactical Battle’ (RTTB). Told through stunning ‘diorama’-style combat scenes, players will assess front line conditions in real-time, issue decisive orders and use a variety of skills, classes, and equipment to gain the upper hand over their foes.
The DioField Chronicle is set in a beautiful and unique world blending fantasy, medieval and modern-day influences. Under the steady hand of the Shaytham dynasty, the Kingdom of Alletain, on DioField Island, has known peace for 200 years, but suddenly find themselves cast into an age of uncertainty due to the rise of warlike powers and Modern Magic.
The Kingdom of Alletain is rich in the mineral Jade, prized for its use as a base ingredient in magic and sorcery, and the attention of both the Empire and the Alliance inevitably turns towards the island. Players will take control of a band of elite mercenaries calling themselves “Blue Fox”, but will the name “Blue Fox” come to signify hope or darkest tragedy?”
