The Week That Was!

Here at OMG we have all the news and announcements from the past week in one spot. Xbox have Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and more coming to Game Pass. There are leaks about PlayStation Spartacus. And the Halo TV series is approaching. We have two new review with Crossfire X Campaign and also Multiplayer, plus a look back at 35mm. PlayStation Spartacus Rumours

A rumour posted by Jeff Grubb on Twitter that Playstation’s answer to Xbox Games Pass will have 3 subscription tiers.

Halo Infinite Mid-season updates

Halo Infinite sees its mid-season improvements today.

Forza Horizon 5 Updates

On Monday morning Playground Games has hosted the latest Let’s ¡GO! community update to detail what’s to come with the latest Season 5 update. This includes:

  • A 4 week-long PR Stunt Carnival
  • New sign language options
  • New additions to Event Labs
  • Fixes to many bugs and issues
  • New cars, accessories, and a whole heap more.

Russia Suffers Condemnation

This is huge from Bloober Team who are blocking the sale of their games in Russia and Belarus.
As per their social media post:
“As the Russian unprovoked invasion of Ukraine continues, killing defenders and civilians alike, we at Bloober Team have decided to stop selling our titles in Russia and Belarus across all platforms.
We’ve been working with our partners to put the games down from the stores in these countries – the ban coming into effect first on Steam.
Our hearts are with the Ukrainian people and this is one of several steps we’re currently taking to support them.”

It appears that others are following the lead of Bloober Team as CD Projekt move to halt sales of their games in Russia and Belarus.

Fan Made Halo Horror

A fan made Halo horror game based on The Flood is in development. Branching Sickness puts the player in the shoes of a marine trying to survive.

Gears of War Movie?

According to the article below from The Digital Fix, we could be hearing something about the Gears of War movie soon.
“We caught up with Gears of War producer, Dylan Clark, while he was promoting his new movie The Batman, and asked him if he could tell us anything about the film. His answer was “no”, but he did drop this tantalising tease. “I’m glad that you’re interested in it,” he said. “It’s something it’s been a passion of mine for a very long time. I think very soon there will be an announcement.””
It’s been out there for a long time with no movement so hopefully this will change soon.

Review – Crossfire X (Single Player Campaign)

A pair of Operations serve as the campaign in Crossfire X, companion single player content to the free-to-play multiplayer experience at the forefront of the title. Operation Catalyst and Operation Spectre take less than two hours each to complete, offering a brief, dated and ultimately shallow experience that leaves the player baffled by the fact that the single player aspect of Crossfire X was developed by Remedy Entertainment, known for cult and critical classics such as Max Payne, Alan Wake and Control.

Review – Crossfire X (Multiplayer)

Crossfire X is somehow the successor to the wildly popular CrossFire from 2007. Despite launching in 2022, Crossfire X manages to introduce gameplay that could be found from fifteen years ago, makes a few teaks and manages to create one of the clunkiest first-person shooters with the worst aiming in years. Poor controls, a myriad of bugs and an extremely limited pool of maps and modes keep Crossfire X from reaching the potential to be anything other than a knock-off version of the original CrossFire.

In 2014 a deadly Ebola-like epidemic spreads rapidly around the globe, but unlike our COVID, this disease has an 80%+ mortality rate. The epidemic quickly overwhelms society, and the world as we know it crumbles. In 35mm, the player takes on the role of Bill Petrovich after the epidemic decimated society and most of the human race and sets out on a journey across the land that was once Russia in search of something or someone.

Review - Tunic

Tunic is an isometric action-adventure game developed by Andrew Shouldice and published by Finji. Inspired by the classic Legend of Zelda games, Tunic puts you in the shoes of a fox in a, you guessed it, tunic and plops you on a beach to start your adventure in this strange yet familiar world. The similarities to early Zelda games are evident throughout the experience, almost to a fault. The combat, audio and world all take different inspirations from the series.
