The Week That Was!

Here at OMG we have all the news and announcements from the past week in one spot. PlayStation has shown off the attractive design of its PSVR 2. Xbox has teamed up with Twitch to make streaming easier. And both parties have announced their month ‘free’ game line ups for March. We have one new review of 35mm and a look back at Edge of Eternity. To finish off we have 18 0f this weeks newest trailers including Elden Ring, Street Fighter 6, LEGO Star Wars, Shadow Warrior 3, Martha Is Dead, ELEX II and lots more.  Join us for the week that was.

PlayStation Plus March Line Up

“PlayStation Plus March line-up is here to test your survival, racing and combat skills with three action-packed titles and a “bonus” game to add to your game library. From Tuesday, 1 March, prove you’ve got what it takes to survive a deadly island wilderness in Ark: Survival Evolved, outpace the competition in Team Sonic Racing and sharpen your reflexes in cyberpunk first-person adventure Ghostrunner. In addition to those titles, team up and take on fearsome, supernatural foes in “bonus” game Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, which joins the lineup this month.”

Call of Duty Breaking Tradition

For something out of the ordinary for the Call of Duty scene, Bloomberg have reported that the next Call of Duty game will NOT come this year as Activision delay a game outside of the yearly cycle.
I’m the article below it states:
“Activision Blizzard Inc. will delay a Call of Duty game that had been planned for next year, the first time the franchise will be without an annual mainline release in nearly two decades, according to people familiar with the plan.
The company is pushing off the release after a recent entry in the series failed to meet expectations, leading some executives to believe that they’re introducing new versions too rapidly, said the people, who asked not to be identified because they weren’t authorized to discuss the deliberations. The decision was not related to Activision’s agreement to sell itself to Microsoft Corp. for $69 billion, the people said.”
It is a good move as we see a lot of other titles do the same in these current times. You can read the full article here.

Review – 35mm

35mm, named after the most common film used in cameras, it is also a 2016 first-person survival puzzle game, with horror and shooter-like action elements by indy developer Sergey Noskov that has been ported to console for release in March 2022.

In 2014 a deadly Ebola-like epidemic spreads rapidly around the globe, but unlike our COVID, this disease has an 80%+ mortality rate. The epidemic quickly overwhelms society, and the world as we know it crumbles. In 35mm, the player takes on the role of Bill Petrovich after the epidemic decimated society and most of the human race and sets out on a journey across the land that was once Russia in search of something or someone.

Recap Quick Byte Review – Edge of Eternity

Edge of Eternity is a JRPG developed by Midgar Studios which recently released day one on Xbox Games Pass. Players take on the role of a soldier named Dayron, who’s planet has been attacked by a technologically advanced mechanical race. The world’s inhabitants are at the mercy of the invasion, as well as a biological agent that takes over the body and turns the host into a monster. Dayron makes it his mission to find a cure when his mother is infected with the agent. And that’s where the story begins.

Review - Tunic

Tunic is an isometric action-adventure game developed by Andrew Shouldice and published by Finji. Inspired by the classic Legend of Zelda games, Tunic puts you in the shoes of a fox in a, you guessed it, tunic and plops you on a beach to start your adventure in this strange yet familiar world. The similarities to early Zelda games are evident throughout the experience, almost to a fault. The combat, audio and world all take different inspirations from the series.
