Justice Sucks: Recharged

Set on a cruise ship, the player takes the role as a killer robot vacuum cleaner on a mission of vengeance. Now, this may sound strange and well, it is. This title comes with a quirky and considerably bizarre sense of humour that, matched alongside over the top gore, makes it an absolute blast to play. The goal is to protect certain items on the ship, while simultaneously surviving the enemies that are on the hunt, but really the goal is somewhat forgotten as the excitement of creatively taking out the next foe takes over. 

A very bright, cartoon art-style pops in every area and makes the game run very smoothly. There are different abilities to plan out an attack, like hacking certain electronics, sucking in various items to be used as ammunition and a special attack that can be activated by consumption of the dead. There is something new around each corner and while the player can simply think on their feet, learning the map layout is vital for success and with using the dash button the player can get around quickly and seamlessly. 

Verdict: Keep an eye out!

Smash Ball

Smash Ball from Smashball Labs LLC is a game to play with friends and pass the controller around, a bit like Mario Kart. Very casual, user-friendly affair, that plays a bit like air hockey, but with robots and explosions. The customisation will likely be the more enticing side of this game, and not so much the gameplay. Simple controls, a simple goal, with some special abilities that can give the player an upper hand during a match, this is one that anyone can pick up and play. 

Smash Ball can be played online and locally, which is good to see. There is a serious lack of games with local play support these days. Visuals are nice, with a cartoon art-style and considering the plethora of bright colours; it is pleasing to the eye. A competitive game at heart, strongly focused on customisation and team building, I am remaining hopeful that it will not become a “buy-to-win” title, filled with micro-transactions. 

Verdict: Shaping Up. 

Smash Ball was played on PC, will also be coming out on PlayStation and Xbox current and next generation consoles. It will also becoming on Nintendo Switch and iOS.
