OMG and Community Games of the Year Results Part 3
OMG – Best Adventure
Dreams – PS4
Community – Best AdventureC
Tell Me Why – Xbox One
While Tell Me Why does have a lot of similarities to Dontnod’s past games, it is a well-written mystery adventure that has motivating lead characters and outstanding cast of support characters. The small town of Delos Crossing is a beautiful setting, with a number of striking vistas. Even though some of the stories outcomes are a little predictable, the narrative will hold most players to the end. The partnership of Dontnot and Microsoft is a successful one and they have produced an excellent Xbox exclusive. Click here for our full review.

Gears 5: Hivebusters – Xbox One and Xbox X|S
Hivebusters is an awesome DLC package and the start of the new generation console experience. It is a visually stunning package that provides a full background story of Scorpio Squad, linking escape directly into the main game. The characters, their personalities and their backstory fully immerse players into the game and make us care about those that previously seemed like they were just characters there for a game mode only. The only question is around the price. I could justify spending the $30 for this but not everyone can justify $30 for around 3 hours game time. Click here for our full review.
OMG – Best Games That Flew Under the Radar
Hades – Nintendo Switch
Hades is a highly addictive title that will have players constantly doing ‘just one more run’. The combat, story, weapon and Boon system are well done and to the point that the escape experiences are never the same twice. It makes time fly by with each run and to the point where two and three o’clock in the morning happened to me often. Hades has impressive different enemy and boss types, which keeps battles fresh. It requires great strategy and sometimes a bit of luck to make it to the far reaches of the final boss. The joy and reward of that first successful escape attempt is so satisfying and makes the 20 to 30 hours played getting there well worth it. Well-done Supergiant games on this masterpiece!
