We are going to put up regular articles to help gamer’s keep up with all of the news and trailers. Here is the first recap for Friday 4th September 2020.
There are some amazing indie games in these trailers so definitely keep an eye out for them.
Fire Tonight – Nintendo Switch and PC/Mac – Early 2021
“Fire Tonight is a narrative puzzle game set in 1990 following a couple’s quest to reunite in a city on fire.
Inspired by Information Society’s song of the same name, Fire Tonight is a lighthearted but thoughtful walk through the story of a relationship. A story about believing in each other when the whole world tries to keep them apart.”
Some more information from the developers of the game:
“Help Maya and Devin reunite in a city set ablaze by a raging wildfire. Navigate fire escapes, race across rooftops, and elude police checkpoints as Maya on a journey to Devin’s apartment. As he awaits her arrival, interact with keepsakes from the pair’s relationship to learn more about their history and what’s driving them to be together during this harrowing time.”
30XX – Consoles and PC – 2021
“Jump, shoot, and slash your way through 30XX, the roguelike action platformer you can play with a friend!”
“Explore lush, ever-changing worlds that mix precise platforming with fevered combat. Destroy fearsome Guardians. Master unique Powers. Rediscover the thousand years we’ve lost.
Awaken a thousand years after 20XX to realize the world that needed you is gone, changed irreversibly by the advent of the Synthetic Mind and a human race that’s lost the will to reach for the stars. Explore the lush, verdant prison our world has become, and fight to save what remains.
Rise. Fight. Fall. Adapt. There’s a sublime meaning in this endless cycle, somewhere, buried deep.”
Here’s a bit more information on the game for you from the development team.
“Drawing inspiration from the Mega Man X series and modern roguelike design, 30XX features a beautiful hi-bit art style along with eight specially themed levels and new platforming mechanics. Both protagonists return with new powers, including Ace’s Techniques that can chain together to unleash mighty combos and Nina’s Power Fusion system, which combines boss powers.”

Adventures of Pip – Nintendo Switch – 10th September 2020
“After revitalizing the classic side-scrolling action platformer in 2015, Tic Toc Games is proud to announce Adventures of Pip for the Nintendo Switch! Join Pip – a lowly single pixel in a 32-bit world – on an adventure that proves that you can’t judge a hero by the fidelity of his shaders.
Journey with Pip as he sets out to save Princess Adeline from the Evil Queen DeRezzia. Pip’s quest begins when he learns he can absorb the ‘Bitstream’ from his fallen foes to evolve —or devolve— back and forth between 3 different forms. Each evolution provides different powers that Pip can use to solve environmental puzzles and blast through enemies. Pip’s tale leads players through five different stylized worlds with up to 10 hours of epic adventuring gameplay!
Can you help Pip save Pixelonia from the clutches of the evil queen DeRezzia?”
Ghostrunner – Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC – 2020

Climb Dharma Tower, humanity’s last shelter after a world-ending cataclysm. Make your way up from the very bottom to the top, confront the tyrannical Keymaster, and take your revenge.
One-hit-one-kill mechanics make the combat fast and intense—use your superior mobility (and frequent checkpoints!) to fearlessly engage in a never-ending dance with death.”
Here’s a bit more on the game from the developer:
“Ascend Dharma Tower, humanity’s corrupt final shelter, as an agile cyber-warrior. Leap from rooftops, run across walls, cut through cyborgs and deadly machinery, and learn new abilities in the cyberworld. Guided by a mysterious A.I. and a resistance known as the Climbers, learn the truth behind a caste system enforced by the brutal Keymaster ruling the tower.”
