Earlier this morning Xbox took to screens all around the world with a 30 minute presentation to celebrate 20 years of this amazing brand.
The show brought with it the old and new as cast, crew and participants reflected on the past and future of the brand, bringing some big announcements with it.
The information and announcement from the show saw:
Halo Infinite Multiplayer Goes Live
That’s right, the rumours were true and Halo Infinite’s multiplayer went live in beta form this morning and gamers were about to jump into Season 1 of the free multiplayer portion of the game straight away.

On the topic of Halo, a trailer for the upcoming Halo TV series was showcased in preparation for the launch in 2022.
Power On: The Story of Xbox
If you ever wondered how Xbox came to be and got to where it is today, then this six part mini-series is just for you when it launches on the 13th December on various platforms.
“Told by the team that lived it, Power On: The Story of Xbox is a documentary series that takes you back to the scrappy beginnings of Xbox as a passion project from a small group of gamers within Microsoft. It continues through the generations and shares never seen before details about some of Xbox’s biggest challenges like the dreaded Red Ring of Death.”
Backward Compatibility Gets Bigger, But it’s All Over
The backward compatibility program received a massive boost with over 70 titles, including 20 from the original Xbox, making their way to the Xbox Series consoles. This included the likes of the Max Payne and F.E.A.R. series, Skate, Dead or Alive Ultimate, Star Wars: Jedi Knight II, Star Wars: Starfighter and Otogi to name a few.
The downside to this latest entry is that of your favourite games from previous generations hasn’t been added to the program at this point then it won’t be getting added to the program as the energy and focus is shifting to current and future developments.
“While we continue to stay focused on preserving and enhancing the art form of games, we have reached the limit of our ability to bring new games to the catalog from the past due to licensing, legal and technical constraints.”

Xbox and The Rock Together Again
Xbox today announced that they’ve teamed up with The Rock and Netflix to launch The Xbox Vault to give fans a chance to win 1,000’s of prizes.
the Xbox Vault is “an immersive online experience inspired by “Red Notice” and filled with legendary Xbox artifacts, giving fans a chance to win one of over 1,000 limited-edition prizes.”

Win a Gaming Room Makeover
To add to the 20th Anniversary celebrations Xbox also announced the chance for fans registers for Xbox FanFest to win a gaming room make over that comes with an artistic display of two decades worth of Xbox’s legacy.

Xbox ANZ Bring Local Talent to the World
To finish the article off on a massive high, Xbox ANZ brought The Sydney Youth Orchestra and Kamilaroi man Paul Glass to the world as they worked together on a compilation of music from the Halo games.
