Here at OMG we have all the news and announcements from the past week in one spot. Mass Effect will be returning, Xbox are celebrating 20 Years, and Sony and Xbox play nice.  We have one review with Forza Horizon 5. Scorn

Ebb Software GmbH have announced the delay of Scorn into 2022 over on the games Kickstarter page.
In the latest update they go on to discuss a number of factors around launching games and then end with the following statement:
“For the record, yes, the game has slipped into 2022 and we will have an official confirmation of the delay on the 10th of December. It was supposed to be announced in October, but circumstances out of our control postponed it. If it turns out not to be on the 10th by our or someone else’s will, don’t hold it too much against us.”

Far Cry 6 DLC Vaas: Insanity

Ubisoft have announced the launch date for the upcoming DLC for Far Cry 6 titled Vaas: Insanity as the 16th November.
“Players will embody Vaas, the iconic villain from Far Cry® 3 played by Michael Mando (Better Call Saul), who is reprising his role in a brand-new experience inspired by the roguelite genre. Starting with nothing more than a pistol to defend themselves, players will need to find new weapons and unlock power-ups to become stronger and progress deeper into the depths of Vaas’ psyche. Blending intense action and storytelling, Vaas: Insanity will provide a unique opportunity to better understand Vaas’ past, personal demons and motivations.”

Review – Forza Horizon 5

As the minutes ticked down, the days faded away and the months went by, the excitement of being able to play Forza Horizon 5 started to build slowly but surely. Finally, launch day arrives, Forza Horizon 5 starts with a bang, the opener eclipses the openers of Forza Horizon 3 and 4 in one fell swoop with extravaganza aplenty. Forza Horizon 5 leaves players with no doubt in how vast the game’s map will be, the huge variety of races, storylines and side quests that will greet players as they progress through the stages.

Forza Horizon has long been a game series that excites lovers of fast cars, cars that many could only ever dream of driving, locations that just lend themselves to driving, and a formula to a game that draws players in, making the hours just roar by. Forza Horizon 5 steps up to the plate as the latest offering in the Horizon franchise and in a location that allows players to experience vastly different driving experiences as they discover the vast map that is Mexico. There is no doubt that this is shaping up to be a popular entry into the franchise that has been around since 2012.

Review – WWE 2K22

For the first time since 2000, 2021 saw no release of a WWE title. Following a lacklustre and broken release with WWE 2K20 theinevitable next entry was delayed to completely rebuild the gameplay engine, implement a new control system and significantly improve the visuals. The extra time and polish has paid off with the impressive WWE 2K22. Arriving less than three weeks from WWE’s flagship event, WrestleMania, the timing couldn’t be better for the WWE Universe and its players to unleash chaos in the squared circle with a smoother, more satisfying experience.

Featuring a heavily cinematic Showcase mode that follows cover Superstar Rey Mysterio’s rise with twelve matches that proved pivotal to his legacy two decades into his career, there is the Universe mode which is essentially just a free-play mode but with a few new tweaks and three additional content heavy modes. The MyRISE mode allows players to create custom Superstars and take them through the NXT developmental system and all the way up to capturing the Championships on offer on the main roster, a card driven MyFACTION mode that lets players unlock cards and send their Faction into the history books and finally, the long awaited return of the GM mode in MyGM. MyGM gives players the power to book their own roster and compete against rival brands to drive theirs to the top.

WWE is back on consoles in a big way and with so many new features, mechanics and modes, WWE 2K22 certainly hits different.

Review – Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarök

Dawn of Ragnarök is the largest expansion to date for Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, kicking off the second year of new content. With a larger map to explore than offered in the Wrath of the Druids and Siege of Paris expansions that came before, Dawn of Ragnarök also introduces more meaningful new abilities and gear than the early pair of expansions.

Taking place in the mythological dream world that serves as the core skeletal structure of Valhalla’s lore, Eivor is transported once again into the role of Odin, referred to as Havi. Tasked with rescuing your son, Baldur, from the fire giants, Odin must forge an alliance with the dwarves of Svartalfheim to prepare for a battle of the ages against the mighty Surtr and prevent Ragnarök – the end of all worlds.

With access to abilities that embrace the firey abilities of the Muspel’s and icy strength of the Jotuns, the combat has evolved into its most mythologically inspired iteration, yet which is enjoyable, varied and fun to experiment with when using the six new abilities to solve puzzles as well. A fantastical setting rooted in Norse mythology, fun boss fights and an excellent new suite of abilities result in a familiar yet engaging expansion to Eivor’s own evolution as they follow in the footsteps of a god.

Review – Elden Ring

YOU DIED. These two words in Elden Ring, like the other titles from developer FromSoftware, are not a prediction, they are a spoiler. Death in Elden Ring isn’t necessarily failure but rather a learning tool, a means to taking additional time to further understand the intricacies of the complex combat mechanics that are required to not only survive but to complete the story.

Cast into the world of the Lands Between with minimal hand-holding, no waypoints, mission markers or quest logs, Elden Ring allows players to embark on their treacherous open-world adventure with unbridled customisation that extends to the gear, weapons and attributes of the player’s character. Jaw-dropping environmental art design, engaging and diverse combat encounters and a near-never-ending amount of new locations and boss encounters to discover are just a few of the reasons Elden Ring has solidified itself in the conversation of greatest RPGs of all time.
