The Week That Was!

Here at OMG we have all the news and announcements from the past week in one spot. Unfortunately, we see a large delay for STALKER 2. Dying Light developers promise 500 hours of gameplay and Forza and Call of Duty have updates. While we have no reviews this week, we have 4 incoming for next week and you can catch up on our Games of the Year and Deals of the Week. To finish off we have 20 0f this weeks newest trailers including Rainbow Six Extraction, Gran Turismo 7, Pokemon Legends: Arceus, The Anacrusis, Far Cry DLC and lots more.  Join us for the week that was.

Major News and Announcements

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Delay

The team behind S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 has announced that it is delaying the launch of the game until the 8th December 2022 in a statement on their socials.

STALKER

Dying Light 2 is going to take some to complete!

You may be interested to know that Dying Light 2 Stay Human will take around 500 hours for 100% completion according to the teams socials.

“To fully complete Dying Light 2 Stay Human, you’ll need at least 500 hours—almost as long as it would take to walk from Warsaw to Madrid!

Forza Horizon 5 Autumn Update

Autumn is on its way in Forza Horizon 5 and here’s what to expect.

Hitman Trilogy

IO interactive have announced that a Hitman Trilogy bundle will be coming to gamers on the 20th January. They have also announced that it will be coming to Xbox Game Pass on day one.

The tweet states:

“HITMAN Trilogy includes all three games from the World of Assassination. Available digitally on January 20 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and Epic Games Store. As well as Steam and Xbox Game Pass.”

Another massive get for Xbox Game Pass.

The OMG Deals of the Week are back, each week we are going to put together the top three deals for each platform as found on Deku Deals.

This week we have a mix of Lego titles on Xbox that are great for the kids, for the older kids and the parents we have the South Park titles on Playstation and to celebrate the starting of the Australian Open over on the Switch we have AO Tennis as well as Monster Kid and the always enjoyable Untitled Goose Game.

Review – WWE 2K22

For the first time since 2000, 2021 saw no release of a WWE title. Following a lacklustre and broken release with WWE 2K20 theinevitable next entry was delayed to completely rebuild the gameplay engine, implement a new control system and significantly improve the visuals. The extra time and polish has paid off with the impressive WWE 2K22. Arriving less than three weeks from WWE’s flagship event, WrestleMania, the timing couldn’t be better for the WWE Universe and its players to unleash chaos in the squared circle with a smoother, more satisfying experience.

Featuring a heavily cinematic Showcase mode that follows cover Superstar Rey Mysterio’s rise with twelve matches that proved pivotal to his legacy two decades into his career, there is the Universe mode which is essentially just a free-play mode but with a few new tweaks and three additional content heavy modes. The MyRISE mode allows players to create custom Superstars and take them through the NXT developmental system and all the way up to capturing the Championships on offer on the main roster, a card driven MyFACTION mode that lets players unlock cards and send their Faction into the history books and finally, the long awaited return of the GM mode in MyGM. MyGM gives players the power to book their own roster and compete against rival brands to drive theirs to the top.

WWE is back on consoles in a big way and with so many new features, mechanics and modes, WWE 2K22 certainly hits different.

Review – Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarök

Dawn of Ragnarök is the largest expansion to date for Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, kicking off the second year of new content. With a larger map to explore than offered in the Wrath of the Druids and Siege of Paris expansions that came before, Dawn of Ragnarök also introduces more meaningful new abilities and gear than the early pair of expansions.

Taking place in the mythological dream world that serves as the core skeletal structure of Valhalla’s lore, Eivor is transported once again into the role of Odin, referred to as Havi. Tasked with rescuing your son, Baldur, from the fire giants, Odin must forge an alliance with the dwarves of Svartalfheim to prepare for a battle of the ages against the mighty Surtr and prevent Ragnarök – the end of all worlds.

With access to abilities that embrace the firey abilities of the Muspel’s and icy strength of the Jotuns, the combat has evolved into its most mythologically inspired iteration, yet which is enjoyable, varied and fun to experiment with when using the six new abilities to solve puzzles as well. A fantastical setting rooted in Norse mythology, fun boss fights and an excellent new suite of abilities result in a familiar yet engaging expansion to Eivor’s own evolution as they follow in the footsteps of a god.

Review – Elden Ring

YOU DIED. These two words in Elden Ring, like the other titles from developer FromSoftware, are not a prediction, they are a spoiler. Death in Elden Ring isn’t necessarily failure but rather a learning tool, a means to taking additional time to further understand the intricacies of the complex combat mechanics that are required to not only survive but to complete the story.
