Console Games of the Year Day 18 – Best PlayStation Exclusive

Spread the love
OMG
Over the month of January, the OMG crew will be releasing polls for our community to vote on their favourite console games of 2020. These games have been nominated, categorised and discussed by those behind the scenes here. We do acknowledge that everyone’s favourite 2020 games may not be on our lists, as unfortunately we are not able to play and review every game that comes to console. This is a bit of fun and chance for you to win prizes.

Many of these Games of the Year posts will come with a chance for you to win some loot such as Cyberpunk 2077, Fifa 21, a year of Xbox GamePass and more.

To win this loot is simple:-

  • Vote via the poll and comment at the bottom of this article with the game you voted for and with your first name and initial of surname. (This is to help with bonus entries)
  • You can get bonus entries by voting each day and liking our category posts on Facebook, Twitter and sharing them BUT you must vote.
  • That’s a total of 5 chances for each prize. Winners will be announced 7 days after the polls go live via the website and posts on our Facebook and Twitter pages.

We are giving away a code for 12  months of Xbox Game Pass, compatible with Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC. This prize is only open to Australian and New Zealand residents.

To be in the running vote and comment below.

Best PlayStation Exclusive

Rules: These are games must be a PlayStation Exclusive for at least 1 year.

AstroBot

Astro’s Playroom is a perfect package to highlight what the impressive DualSense controller can do. It is also a responsive and entertaining platform adventure. The PlayStation history lesson Astro’s Playroom provides with its collectables and easter eggs will pull on the sentimental heart strings of the more innocent times of growing up. Astro’s Playroom is pre-installed on all PlayStation 5 consoles and should be played through once by all owners of this new console. Click here for our full review.

Demon’s Souls

Demon’s Souls is a game that tests the most patient of gamers and stays true to its origin. The world and the characters in it, though harrowing, are very beautiful to look at and completing the many challenging, but fair tasks in Demon’s Souls is a very rewarding feeling. It is not at all for the faint of heart and I imagine the global death-count is astronomical, although I highly recommend everyone try it, especially fans of the genre. Click here for our full review.

Dreams

Fall Guys

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is a fun game that will have many laughing and stumbling their way to the finish line. Whether you play solo or with a group of your friends online you are sure to have some fun. The maps are fun, bright, full of colour and not every run will be the same, you can play a map 20 times and the result will be different. Progression towards the battle pass does not feel grindy as every game, no matter where you place you still earn some fame XP and kudos. Click here for our full review.

Final Fantasy VII Remake

Ghost of Tsushima

Overall Ghost of Tsushima is a masterstroke of art, gameplay and open world exploration. This is a game to be savoured like a fine wine aged to perfection. Do not rush through this, as there is so much to see on this island of Tsushima. The story is perfectly placed and toned throughout as the Samurai who becomes a hero of the island and like Jin, this game is a legend. Sucker Punch should be extremely proud of this PS4 exclusive. This is how you end a generation with a game that hits it for six from every possible angle. Click here for our full review.

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales

Miles Morales is a bright, charismatic A-grade student, who is not only able to step into the shoes of Spider-Man but does it so well that Insomniac have reflected that into this stellar game. Miles and his support characters create a memorable story in a beautiful backdrop. The action and activities will keep players webbed to their screen until credits role, it is just a pity that its shorter run time will keep players wishing it had a longer narrative in Miles’ first independent outing as the friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man. Nioh 2

Sackboy: A Big Adventure

Sackboy: A Big Adventure is an accessible title that will scratch any platforming gamer’s itch. The controls are responsive and deaths never feel cheap. Even though levels seem a little dull to begin with, the game really ramps it up with some of the best platforming level design this reviewer has played. While the collectibles will keep some gamers glued for a while to come, the ease of this title is disappointing. Overall, Sackboy: A Big Adventure gets gamers together, while the online mode is not yet available, it will put family and friends on the same couch enjoying some wholesome platforming action. The Last of Us Part 2

The Last of Us: Part II is brutal, violent, confronting and at times just outright depressing. The world that has been established is in a league of its own, brought to life by characters and performances that are phenomenal, engaging and genuinely interesting. Such an emotionally driven, highly cinematic and interactive experience is a once in a generation feat to pull off but it is one that Naughty Dog have masterfully accomplished. My vote is for the FFVII remake, as the original was the game that I first played with my partner of 19 years.
