Battletoads – Xbox One

The Battletoads have been in the shadows for 26 years and this game knows it has some expectations and nostalgia to fill.  This sequel is a great addition to the Xbox exclusive library. Newcomers will be happy with the accessibility while veterans of the series have the option to be punished. The action is tight; the change in gameplay predominantly keeps it fresh, while the animations, cutscenes, art style and sound design oozes fun and style, you just wish there was a lot more of it. The toads are back and after this long wait, it is great to see they are ready for the battle once again.  Click here for our full review.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout – PS4

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is a fun game that will have many laughing and stumbling their way to the finish line. Whether you play solo or with a group of your friends online you are sure to have some fun. The maps are fun, bright, full of colour and not every run will be the same, you can play a map 20 times and the result will be different. Minecraft Dungeons – PS4, Switch and Xbox One

Minecraft Dungeons is what you would expect from a Minecraft game set in a dungeon crawler world. The combination of Minecraft and dungeon crawler works really well and provides a great experience for all gamers. The game plays well and the controls are smooth and simple to use. The main concern being the small amount of levels that are present, which will be more of a concern for those not used to this genre of game, those that just don’t like repeating content are those expecting a larger world. If you are a fan of Minecraft, a casual dungeon crawler or looking for something to play with children then this game is one worth picking up. Click here for our full review.

Sackboy: A Big Adventure – PS4|5

Sackboy: A Big Adventure is an accessible title that will scratch any platforming gamer’s itch. The controls are responsive and deaths never feel cheap. Even though levels seem a little dull to begin with, the game really ramps it up with some of the best platforming level design this reviewer has played. While the collectibles will keep some gamers glued for a while to come, the ease of this title is disappointing. Overall, Sackboy: A Big Adventure gets gamers together, while the online mode is not yet available, it will put family and friends on the same couch enjoying some wholesome platforming action. Streets of Rage 4 – PS4, Switch and Xbox One

Streets of Rage 4 hits the high notes in every single aspect at being faithful to franchise but it absolutely knocks it out of the park when adding new elements. As a long time BeatEm Up aficionado, I cannot name a single game in its genre that is this close to perfection.
