Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods – Part One

Overall, those players that have played the base Doom game will know exactly what to expect from Eternal and the Ancient Gods Part One builds on that experience. The game is fast paced, frequent action that requires the player to use every tool at their disposal and the expansion does not change this tried and tested formula, it just throws bigger and badder enemies in the player’s direction. The world looks and sounds great and the traversal is fun but the story behind the battles do get lost in everything else.  It is a great delivery by the team and it is an expansion that any player who enjoyed the main game will enjoy, they might just want a refresher on the combat in the main game first. Gears 5: Hivebusters – Xbox One and Xbox X|S

Hivebusters is an awesome DLC package and the start of the new generation console experience. It is a visually stunning package that provides a full background story of Scorpio Squad, linking escape directly into the main game. The characters, their personalities and their backstory fully immerse players into the game and make us care about those that previously seemed like they were just characters there for a game mode only. The only question is around the price. I could justify spending the $30 for this but not everyone can justify $30 for around 3 hours game time. Click here for our full review.

Mortal Kombat is a series that has spanned for nearly 30 years and it has provided countless spin offs in many forms of media, such as a television series, movies and comic books. Mortal Kombat’s lore and characters are as rich as any Marvel or DC universe and this is due to NetherRealm Studios remarkable ability to be one of the only fighting game developers to blend a truly authentic story with its bone crunching combat.
