Most Disappointing Title

Over the month of January, the OMG crew will be releasing polls for our community to vote on their favourite console games of 2020. These games have been nominated, categorised and discussed by those behind the scenes here. We do acknowledge that everyone’s favourite 2020 games may not be on our lists, as unfortunately we are not able to play and review every game that comes to console. This is a bit of fun and chance for you to win prizes.

Many of these Games of the Year posts will come with a chance for you to win some loot such as Cyberpunk 2077, Fifa 21, a year of Xbox GamePass and more.

To win this loot is simple:-

  • Vote via the poll and comment at the bottom of this article with the game you voted for and with your first name and initial of surname. (This is to help with bonus entries)
  • You can get bonus entries by voting each day and liking our category posts on Facebook, Twitter and sharing them BUT you must vote.
  • That’s a total of 5 chances for each prize. Winners will be announced 7 days after the polls go live via the website and posts on our Facebook and Twitter pages.

We are giving away a code for Marvel’s Avengers, compatible with Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC. This prize is only open to Australian and New Zealand residents.

To be in the running vote and comment below.

Rules: These are games must be brand new IPs (Intellectual Property)

Bleeding Edge – Xbox One

The overall feeling towards Bleeding Edge is that it is lacking in almost every department. Both of the game modes are fun and chaotic but do not tend to last much longer than approximately ten minutes and the inability to choose which one to play or to be able to play privately hurt the social replayability for those that want to play with a group of more than three friends. A sensation of emptiness fills the experience more than expected in terms of gameplay, game modes and progression. There is fun to be had with Bleeding Edge, hopefully new maps, modes and characters make an appearance down the road to inject more variety and life into an otherwise empty game. Cyberpunk 2077 – PS5 and Xbox Series X|S*

Cyberpunk’s story, exceptional side-missions, eccentric NPCs, gunplay and outstanding location has me enthralled and it is one of those titles that I look forward to sitting down to become V to continue my journey with taking on Night City. For our full review in progress, click here.

* Note that our Cyberpunk nominations are for the Series X|S and PS5 versions. We have not reviewed the base console version or currently endorse those versions.

Crysis Remastered – PS4, Switch, Xbox One

Destroy All Humans! – PS4, Switch, Xbox One

The gameplay and overall presentation isn’t raising any bars but rather does what Destroy All Humans! does best. It entertains. Black Forest Games have delivered a faithful experience for those of us who grew up with the original and one that is sure to captivate new players to the franchise. It’s fun, it’s humorous, and its 8-10 hour run time prevents Crypto from overstaying his welcome. Click here for our full review.

Fast & Furious Crossroads – PS4 and Xbox One

Godfall – PS5

Marvel’s Avengers – PS4 and Xbox One

After 12 years of The Avengers dealing with the likes of Hydra, Ultron and Thanos, it was a logical choice to differentiate between the MCU and what could be the beginning of a new Marvel Gaming Universe. With a story that touches onto topics such as loss, betrayal, self-doubt, growing up as well as realising your inner potential and taking responsibilities for ones actions, Marvel’s Avengers has a narrative that we can all relate too in some way. At the end of the day, powers or no powers, that’s what Marvel Comics has always strived to achieve over the last 80 years. Click here for our full review.

Resident Evil 3 – PS4 and Xbox One

It is a pity that Resident Evil 3 remake has dropped the ball. While its visuals and sound design are near a perfect ten, this game is just too shallow. It is bewildering as to why a lot of the substance that made the RE2 remake so successful is not present. The game is shorter than the RE3: Nemesis original game released over 20 years ago, missing puzzles, enemy types and a real thrill. After the amazing opening introductory levels and first hour is up, the sense of excitement just falls away and all that is left is a very average and very slow action game. If RE2 was praised for its presentation, gameplay, and faithfulness to the original, RE3 can only be praised for one of those aspects and that is not good enough. Click here for our full review.

WWE Battlegrounds – PS4, Switch and Xbox One
